How to strengthen immunity?
Colds, acute respiratory infections, and flu are transmitted through the air. In modern life, avoiding contact with infected people is practically impossible. Fortunately, there is the immune system which, in most cases, protects the body from infection.
However, poor nutrition, pollution, stress, and hypothermia can weaken immunity. And then the risk of infection increases dramatically. To reduce the risk of catching colds and flu, you need to **strengthen your immune system**.
Bacteria guarding immunity
The body of a healthy person is inhabited by **friendly bacteria**. This complex of bacteria is called **microflora**. Microflora is mainly located in the intestine, but it is also present on the skin, in the oral cavity, and on other mucous membranes. Bacteria play a huge role in human life: they participate in digestion, metabolism, immune processes, and even affect hormonal balance and mood.
Special strains of **probiotic bacteria** are capable of positively influencing the immune system. They strengthen the microflora in a special way and significantly reduce the risk of colds.

Clinically proven immunity strengthening

Results of clinical studies in children aged 3-5 years
A double-blind, placebo-controlled study* was conducted during the cold season, from November to May, in children aged 3 to 5 years. Children who daily took the bacteria **Bifidobacterium lactis Bi-07TM** and **Lactobacillus acidophilus NCFM®** had significantly fewer cold symptoms, such as fever, cough, and runny nose. Furthermore, these children were much less often prescribed antibiotic therapy (compared to children in the control group).
The average number of days of illness in children who took probiotic bacteria was 46% less than in the control group.

Results of clinical studies in adults
A similar clinical study ** was also conducted in adults. Men and women participated in the study, which lasted 5 months. The group that took the probiotic bacteria **Bifidobacterium lactis Bl-04TM** had a **27% lower risk of developing upper respiratory tract illnesses (cold)**.
The average time to the onset of cold-related symptoms in the group taking the probiotic was 3.2 months, while in the group taking placebo, this period was 2.5 months.
Thus, taking special probiotic bacteria is capable of significantly reducing the risk of catching colds.
